Your review led me to order In Search of Order (the fifth volume of Order and History that you mention in your first paragraph). I'm interested in how Voegelin distinguishes between conventional textual analysis and meditative essays. I love what I know of Voegelin's later thought, and I'm even more interested in that precise intersection of genres (conventional textual analysis and meditative essays) for clarification going forward with my own writing. I'll probably end up ordering Cooper's Consciousness and Politics, too.

I'm enjoying the essays in Volume 12 of Voegelin's Collected Works that you recommended earlier. In some of them, he seems to sharpen his arguments for particular occasions. He seems to want to make himself understood by those who aren't familiar with his longer works and their particular terminology. That's a great way in for me.
